- The Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System or VAERS is a system for
- reporting certain adverse events following vaccinations to help ensure
the
- safety of vaccines.
The VAERS is jointly operated by the Centers for Disease Control and
- Prevention and Food and Drug Administration and was established to
- provide a database of adverse events following vaccinations.
The VAERS works best when vaccine providers voluntarily report possible
- vaccine-associated events. Therefore, the Immunization Program wants
to
- remind you of the importance of reporting adverse events following
immunizations.
If you currently report events following immunizations, please continue
your efforts.
Call the VAERS at 1-800-822-7967
