HELP FOR VETERANS

      CDC Chemical/Biological Meeting
         Atlanta,GA - Feb/March 1999

This would probably be the last time that the original Gulf
War Community would be together in mass. There was
alot of tension, many of the groups had grown apart.

The agenda was very difficult, and the time tables made
many of us sick. Still, a job had to be done - and the
whole collective effort was working farely well in such
tight quarters.

The first day was introductions, and then from there would
come the 4 independent workshops:
PATHOPHYSIOLOGY
ASSESSMENT AND DIAGNOSIS
TREATMENT
PREVENTION

A few like myself registered for all of them, and went
nuts running between rooms.
When the smoke cleared, we had a working model of
what we wanted. Then the CDC would spend a year
and a half transcripting 1,100 pages of material into their
summary report.
Though the data was good, the government would forget
this report, and make ludicrous statements that Gulf War
veterans suffer from Somatoform ( making themselves
sick by suggestion )..
