I am writing in response to your July 7, 1995, and May 9 1996, correspondence (reference number 96M119), regarding plague vaccine. Your letters were provided to us by the Defense Logistics Agency in the hopes that we could shed further light on the disposition of vaccines supplied to US units in the Persian Gulf. Regrettably, this office does not posses the mission or capability to track vaccine lots in military theaters of operations. Thus we can make no comment on the process by which such a vaccine may have been provided to United kingdom forces.

As to the question of whether the vaccine was tested while in the possesion of The United States authorities, we can offer no more information than that provided to you by the Defense Logistics Agency in the correspondence dated August 16, 1995.

I hopethis information is helpful to you.

Sincerely
Patricia L Goggins
Major
Medical Service Corps
Secretary of the General Staff
